Born December
15, 1946, in Staten Island, NY, Carmine Appice was voted the 'most
musically inclined' in high school. In 1968 the liner notes of
Fudge's album The
Beat Goes On
read: "...[Carmine] would like to acquire more formal training,
perhaps studying with a top jazz drummer". Today Carmine teaches
others, in addition to performing. He is universally considered as
one of the most innovative and influential drummers to emerge from
the 60s.
